Over the years, here in Nashville, I periodically checked for a photo club here, but didn't find one until recently. I joined the Professional Photographers of Middle Tennessee, which meets monthly in Nashville. In Atlanta, I belonged to 3-4 photography groups over the years. Each group had opportunities for critiques and jurying into art shows. These events were helpful to me as I honed my craft.
This past weekend the Tennessee chapter of PPA hosted the TNPPA Spring Workshop, which included six speakers and many opportunities to meet other photographers. As an affiliate of PPA, the group hosted an image competition via www.printcompetition.com. Note the Twelve Elements of a Merit Image link and dig in. I was happy that my Cruella De Frost received a Merit award. Here is the image matted as they instructed. This is a magnolia captured in the Spring after a frost had deflated the bloom.
