After visiting California to see blooming magnolias and then returning to Tennessee where magnolias bloomed a few weeks later, it makes me appreciate the climate and the country more than ever. Here are two different forsythia plants. The first is from Tennessee (with a white magnolia) and the second from New Mexico. The TN version is looser, not as tightly woven as the one below. These plants are very different but related. They are blooming around the same time. They both make me think of Forsyth, Georgia where the whole town is aglow in the plant.
